Autumn 1 News Week 3 September 21st 2022

Good morning everyone,

This week we have begun our Team Point Challenge. Year 6 will be collecting points later this afternoon ready for tomorrow’s assembly. I wonder which team will win? The challenge is a way of encouraging children to behave well, work hard as well as work as part of a team.

Also this week staff are voting on who will become our first Head Boy and Head Girl for this term. All votes will be in by Friday.

Please note we are holding our annual Macmillan coffee morning at school on Tuesday 4th October at 9am until 11am. We would really appreciate any donations of cakes, buns or biscuits. These can be brought on the day before. Thank you for your continued support.

I have added a new date below (Astrea cross country event)

Have a good day,

Mrs Mason

Covid update

You will be aware that the need for testing for Covid 19 has changed and schools will longer be asking for proof of a negative test.  Children with Covid generally experience mild symptoms and most get better in a few days, Symptoms are very similar to other common illnesses such as colds and flu.
Children should attend school as normal unless they do not feel well enough or are experiencing a high temperature. If your child has mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat or mild cough they can attend as long as they feel well enough in themselves.

Last week we launched our reading challenge. Remember if children read at least 4 times in the week and have their reading diary signed they can earn stickers on their chart. These stickers earn the children a prize for each milestone they hit. We will also feature their photo in the school hall and in this news post. So please support your child to read as much as possible. Thank you.

Below is a handy guide for parents of children in Years 1 and 2.
