At Denaby Main, we know that exercise is vital for a healthy and happy life. We also understand how important it is to encourage children’s love of sport and the building of teamwork skills through PE. Learning to celebrate together, winning with modesty and accepting defeat are important skills for later life. Success in PE enables success in other areas of the curriculum, and a real growth mind-set.
We are thrilled that our work to develop active pupils has been recognised. For the last 2 years we have been awarded the School Games Mark at Gold level.
Our PE curriculum is led by a combination of qualified sports staff and classroom teachers. Lessons are fun and effective, ensuring time for reflection and growth. They provide a balance of challenge and support so that all children feel included.

We ensure that children experience a variety of sports, games, dance and gymnastics throughout the year, and that each child participates in our annual Sports Day. We also offer a range of in school and after school clubs, allowing children to take part in a variety of games and exercise
