Spring 2 News Week 2 March 3rd World Book Day 2022

Good morning everyone,

It’s World Book Day! I look forward to seeing the children dressed as their book character. Have a listen to the WBD rap below (share it with your younger children)

I have been working on developing our new library over the last few weeks and next week classes will be starting their weekly visits.

Please help by returning school reading books

I have been talking to teachers about our reading book stock and have discovered that we have a sizeable number of books which are have not been returned. These include our much needed Read, Write Inc books. Can I ask that these are returned this week- either with your child or dropped off at the school office- Thank you.

Please read below for useful parent information.

Have a great day

PE Kit

We will be encouraging all children to bring in the correct PE kit over the next few weeks.

  • Child to have a verbal warning the first time it is forgotten.
  • A text will be sent home on the second time it is forgotten.
  • A phone call home will happen on the third occasion (or speak to parents when they collect their child).

Please remember that children should not be wearing jewellery other than a watch and stud earrings. For PE these should be removed however if this is not possible we will supply the children with some tape to cover them up. This is for health and safety reasons.

Please download the app so that you can see how many Dojo points your child has earned.

Places in Nursery and Reception available at Denaby Main Academy.

We know that choosing a primary school is one of the most important decisions that a parent makes. At Denaby Main Academy we work hard to make sure your child feels safe, welcomed and inspired to learn. If you have any friends of family who have children of nursery or reception age and they would like to know more about us then please ask them to contact the school. We will be happy to show them around our lovely school and ask any questions they may have. We can also help with the process of applying for a place.

Help us to grow our family by passing this on.

Thank you

Save the date- 11th March for the inaugural Astrea Sumdog contest.

The basis of the contest is that pupils across the Trust will use Sumdog (the diagnostic element will ensure that questions are appropriate to each child) to answer maths questions in a range of games. Sumdog gauges both speed and accuracy to determine success and certificates and prizes will be available to reward participation. More to follow.
