Summer 2 News Week 5 July 7th 2023

Good morning everyone,

Correction of date!!

We will be sending your child’s annual report via the app on Tuesday July 18th. If you would prefer a paper copy then please contact the school office.

We will award the following certificates today.

France Class

FS1 Elvena – empathy

FS2 Ethan -John – scholarship

 

Canada Class

Kayven for empathy for always thinking of others and being a wonderful friend.
Mason for curiosity for excellent questions and explanations.
Logan has joined in all carpet times, followed instructions and completed every learning task. He has also joined in with a different Phonics group beautifully trying to learn new special friends. Logan has been kind to his friends and been so helpful- well done!

 

Australia Class

Alex Yates – For persevering with a task and being proud of the outcome.

Ali Arefi – For amazing maths work this week and helping to explain his thinking to others.

 

Egypt Class

Jensen – tenacity for really working hard on his writing to make it neater and easier to read.
Laya – tenacity for working really hard at ensuring all her punctuation is in the correct place and taking her time with her writing.

 

Japan Class

Neve Foster – tenacity.
Taylor Gibbons – tenacity.

Brazil Class

Sam – Tenacity. Sam has worked really hard this week to make a popup book in DT. Even though it was tricky, he kept going and produced his own design background and animated characters.

 

Antarctica Class

Layton flint – for empathy- supporting other members of the class

School Council Notes

The School Council’s homework policy begins this term.
Thank you for your support with this.

 

Homework will be given out on Friday for a Thursday return. Please support your child to remember to do this- thank you.

We have introduced artist of the term.

 

Music opportunities in Doncaster.

 

 Remember if children read at least 3 times in the week and have their reading diary signed they can earn stickers on their chart. These stickers earn the children a prize for each milestone they hit. We will also feature their photo in the school hall and in this news post. So please support your child to read as much as possible. Thank you.

Maintaining good attendance at school- parents’ guide.

Children’s University

We will be awarding hours to children who volunteer in school for example as a Playground Leader, Eco or School Councillor. Children also earn hours for taking part in lunchtime and after school clubs.

Key Dates

July

10th and  11th July- Laurel and De Warenne Schools Year 6/7 transition

13th Class transition day – parents invited in the afternoon 2pm. Grounds afternoon.

17th Sports afternoon- parents invited. If possible children to come to school wearing coloured tee shirt according to which team they are in.

18th July- Reports sent to parents (via the app) Papers copies on request.

19th Attendance award day. Year 6 leavers event after school.

20th Children’s University graduation. (In school.)

Year 6 leavers morning tea.

21st End of term- Non uniform day
