Summer 2 News Week 2 June 16th 2023

Good morning everyone,

We held our weekly Eco Council meeting.

We will award certificates to

France Class

FS1 Dylan Noble-Clark- scholarship

Fs2 Tegan Chambers- scholarship

Canada Class

We will give the certificate to everyone for their resilience and tenacity with the phonics screening check.

Australia Class

Lily  – For her amazing phonics achievements and using her phonics knowledge in her writing

Alya  – For being a kind friend and always thinking of others

Egypt Class

Lincoln lister – aspiration. Working really hard and getting all his maths right.
Atta – tenacity- working hard at his phonics and using them in his writing

Japan Class

Amy and Joseph- both for scholarship – Amy for RE and Joseph for reading.

Brazil Class

Alicia – Tenacity. Alicia has settled well in Year 5 and even though it can be scary to start a new school, she has worked hard this week and made lots of new friends.
Finlay – scholarship. Finlay has worked really hard this week and produced some excellent work, sharing his fantastic ideas with the rest of the class.
Antarctica Class

School Council notes

Class Conference discussion of the week.

He is old- I don’t have to listen to him!

 

Mental Health and our Active Challenge.

 Year 5 will have swimming as their PE for this term. If there is time, then we may do some more PE activities during the week but they can be in uniform for these. Thank you.
The School Council’s draft homework policy begins this term.
Thank you for your support with this.

 

Homework will be given out on Friday for a Thursday return. Please support your child to remember to do this- thank you.

We have introduced artist of the term.

 

Music opportunities in Doncaster.

 

 Remember if children read at least 3 times in the week and have their reading diary signed they can earn stickers on their chart. These stickers earn the children a prize for each milestone they hit. We will also feature their photo in the school hall and in this news post. So please support your child to read as much as possible. Thank you.

Maintaining good attendance at school- parents’ guide.

Children’s University

We will be awarding hours to children who volunteer in school for example as a Playground Leader, Eco or School Councillor. Children also earn hours for taking part in lunchtime and after school clubs.

6th STEM fair-  You are invited to join us at our STEM Fair on Thursday 6th July 2.30pm-3pm. Come and see our school’s amazing learning in Science, Computing, DT and Maths this year.  Access will be via the door your child enters/leaves school.

10th and  11th July- De Warenne Year 6/7 transition

13th Class transition day – parents invited in the afternoon (more to follow)

18th July- Reports sent to parents (via the app) Papers copies on request.

17th Sports afternoon- parents invited

19th Attendance award day

20th Children’s University graduation. (In school.)

21st End of term- Non uniform day
